Patsy and I measured the river today, results attached. We cannot get to the Bottom House Farm site because of HS2 work, this is probably going to be an ongoing issue for some time.
There is some water in the source pond but insufficient to make it to the conduit under the road that is the start of the river. Flow starts from the lake below Missenden Abbey and continues to somewhere between St Giles and St Peter just like last month but the flow rate has visually dropped off at most sites.
The upper and lower reaches have experienced an average drop in the water table of about 0.5 metres whereas the centre section from Amersham by pass to the London road has had a marginal rise in the water table.
The current water table is still about 3 metres higher on average from this time last year over the whole length of the measured river.
I guess all this is to be expected in light of the weather recently experienced.
Keep safe and well.
