Running with Wildlife in the South Chilterns (Online Presentation)

Join us for this online presentation by Tim Davie, Director-General of BBC (raconteur Simon Kearey Chiltern Society Chair).

Tim is passionate about the Chilterns and is a keen supporter of the work the Chiltern Society does to map and maintain the footpaths of the Chilterns.

A while back, after over a decade of running the paths of South Oxfordshire and across the world, Tim set himself the challenge of running every mile of path on Ordnance Survey map 171 (which is over 590 square kms). In the end he ran over 750 miles of footpath (and a total mileage of probably 1500+) over 2 years, and recorded all the notable wildlife that caught his eye.

Once we’re clear of lockdown Tim is also hoping to do some volunteering with our Path Maintenance Team across the South Chilterns.

Full call-in details will follow nearer the time.

As a charity we don’t receive any government funding, so without the generosity of our supporters we wouldn’t be able to continue our work to care for the local landscape. The Chilterns is a special place, and your support will help us to keep it that way.
